ABOUT THIS CD

We have made music together since many years, performing as a duo in various parts of the world, also in some unlikely situations. We have recorded several CDs, always together with other musicians, which is why we often fantasised about recording a CD as a duo.

This is how the idea came about during these strange and difficult times to create something together. Una Notte di Coprifuoco is the result, recorded in the course of a single, curfew night from the 21 – 22 February 2021,explicitly without the support of sound engineers, homemade at Roberto’s place in the Ossola valley, Italy.

Although we followed the need to withdraw and make music in solitude, at the same time the ongoing absence of an audience this past year has been terrible. The situation prompted us to search for a way to share our music with an imaginary audience, offering each one the chance to participate by contributing something of their own.

Una Notte di Coprifuoco includes messages in a bottle so to speak.

Each of the 500 numbered and signed CDs is unique, created manually by those who were inspired by the idea and decided to participate.

In each CD you will find a page with drawings, poetry, stories, recipes, reflections, slogans etc. created by children, housewives, artists, poets, accountants, grandparents, parents, adolescents, prisoners, friends, acquaintances, famous and not so famous people etc.

The covers of the CDs have been singularly designed by whoever wished to add a further touch of their own.

Starting out as a duo, our musical offering has been complemented by a unique choir of 500 persons in support of this rather mad idea of ours. It is our way to exorcise the isolation of this period and give back to music the power to facilitate beauty in others, as well as the capacity to dream.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who assisted in this project.

Da tanti anni suoniamo insieme. In duo ci siamo esibiti in varie parti del mondo e nelle situazioni più impensabili. Abbiamo anche registrato vari dischi sempre in gruppi più allargati, e spesso ci siamo detti che avremmo voluto fare un CD in duo.

E’ così arrivata l’idea, proprio in un momento storico tanto straniante e difficile, di realizzare una cosa tutta nostra, ed è nato questo CD, registrato in una notte di coprifuoco, tra il 21 e il 22 febbraio 2021, volutamente senza fonici, “homemade” nella casa di Roberto in Val d’Ossola.

Ma se da una parte sentivamo l’urgenza di chiuderci in solitaria a fare musica, dall’altra la mancanza del pubblico in questo anno è stata terribile.

Abbiamo dunque pensato di condividere l’idea con un pubblico immaginario, con chiunque avesse voluto partecipare mettendo qualcosa di suo.

Ecco perché “Una notte di coprifuoco” racchiude nelle 500 copie numerate e autografate altrettanti “messaggi nella bottiglia”, tutti diversi tra loro, realizzati uno per uno dai tantissimi che hanno creduto in questa idea.

Nel CD troverete un foglio con disegni, poesie, racconti ma anche ricette, riflessioni, slogan e molto altro, di  bambini, casalinghe, artisti, poeti, commercianti, nonni, genitori, adolescenti, detenuti delle carceri, amici, conoscenti, personaggi noti e non.

Anche le copertine del CD sono state realizzate appositamente, una per una, da chiunque abbia voluto metterci del suo.

Una notte di coprifuoco diventa così un lavoro corale nel quale non ci siamo solo noi ma anche le 500 persone che con la loro piccola opera ci hanno voluto aiutare in quest’impresa un po’folle. Un modo per esorcizzare questo periodo e ridare alla musica la capacità e la forza di veicolare bellezza e sogno.

Ringraziamo infinitamente i tantissimi che hanno creduto in “Una notte di coprifuoco”.
