Ciascuno ha le proprie storie preferite. Quelle che non si stanca mai di sentire, quelle che adora raccontare a chiunque sia disposto a sedersi e ascoltare.

Le canzoni di questo disco sono alcune delle nostre storie preferite. Ci hanno stregati al primo ascolto da ragazzi e se capita che la radio le passi, beh, ce le godiamo ancora fino all’ultima nota. Le emozioni racchiuse in esse, risuonano in noi ancora oggi, sin dalle prime note, veicolo di ribellione verso il dolore e l’ingiustizia della guerra, la discriminazione razziale e il potere dell’amore e dei movimenti pacifisti. Lo spirito di aggregazione e desiderio di cambiamento racchiuso in questa musica è stato ed è tutt’ora fonte di speranza e confronto generazionale tra padri e figli.

Sono vecchie storie, naturalmente. Ma abbiamo voluto raccontarle ugualmente, a modo nostro. Perché sono le nostre vecchie storie preferite.

Everyone has their own favourite tales. The ones we never get tired to hear, the ones we want to share with anyone who is willing to sit down and listen.

The songs collected in this album embrace our favourite tales. They caught our attention since the very first time we listened to them in our childhood. The same emotions have an echo today when we catch the same notes on the radio. The injustice of war rings out in this music, as well as the sorrow of the war, the power of human rights and peaceful movements and protests. The sense of togetherness brought by the music always enhances hope and the confrontation between the generation of fathers and sons.

They are old tales, of course. But we wanted to share them anyway, In our own way. Because they are our old favourite tales.
