Liner notes
Never Alone. The Music of Michael Brecker.
Ten years after Michael Brecker’s death, Monday Orchestra celebrates his legacy playing some of his compositions, arranged for a big band.
The album is composed of tracks from Michael Brecker’s solo records as well as tracks of the repertoires of Steps Ahead (in which he was co-leader with the vibraphonist Mike Mainieri) and Brecker Brothers (the group he led with his brother and the great trumpet player Randy).
Mike Mainieri and Randy Brecker took part in the recording of this album; in addition to them, also the great American saxophonist Bob Mintzer, and some of the best Italian sax soloists, such as Emanuele Cisi, Maurizio Giammarco, Daniele Scannapieco and Giulio Visibelli.
Other great musicians and soloists took part in this project: Dario Faiella, Alberto Tafuri, Marco Ricci, Maxx Furian, Tony Arco, and, obvioulsy, Daniele Comoglio, Daniele Moretto, Andrea Andreoli, Rudi Manzoli, Tullio Ricci and Marco Vaggi, who are members of the Monday Orchestra.
Never Alone. The Music of Michael Brecker..
